Cleaning
Modern vaccumm cleaners have high suction power which can pull out treads from the rug . Avoid vaccuming with beater bar, instead use an attachment with small brush.
For minor spills, use a damp cloth with cold water and liquid detergent. Glently damp it around the stain starting from center. Do not use bleach on the rug. It is important to treat any stains with this method as early as possible to avoid further damage to the rug.

Color
Test the rug for colorfastness: To prevent damage, a rug should be tested for colorfastness before being cleaned with any kind of solution. Use a white towel to dab the cleaning agent on a small area of the rug. Examine the towel to check whether any colour has transferred. Check the test area again to be sure that the colours have not faded or bled after allowing it to dry completely.
Wrinkles or Folding on edges
It is common to have wrinkles on a brand new rug . To get rid of them, the rug should be reverse rolled for a couple of minutes and edges should be rolled in the same manner. Repeat this process few times and within a week the rug should be perfectly flat
Odor
Rugs are tightly packed for shipping, freshly opened rug from a packaging might have a slight odor of dyes and yarn. Do not worry about it, the odor will be go away in couple of days

I have had this area rug for about 4 years. I bought it because I have tile floors and in the winter they get very cold. I just wanted something to keep my feet warm and I like to have things match. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how well it was made and how pretty it was. It kept my feet from freezing when they hit the floor in the morning and is low pile so my closet door went right over it. This rug is really beautiful and with occasional vacuuming (I HATE vacuuming, hence the tile floors) it still looks almost new. The gray shade covers any dirt and you can’t even see it. It’s not light but it’s not unmanageable for one person. I am able to take it out in the summer time and back under my bed in winter. Unfortunately, my apartment had a flood and it all pooled in my bedroom. It was soaked. I am currently trying to dry it out. I came to therugnation to see how much a replacement would cost and it’s $10 more than it was last time. If I need to replace it I’m not mad about it. I paid less than 100 for it and it lasted for years, looked great and kept my toes from freezing. Not bad for 100 bucks.Also, about the wrinkles. Get some wrinkle removal for your clothes.
