Rug Care & Guide

Cleaning

Modern vaccumm cleaners have high suction power which can pull out treads from the rug . Avoid vaccuming with beater bar, instead use an attachment with small brush.

For minor spills, use a damp cloth with cold water and liquid detergent. Glently damp it around the stain starting from center.  Do not use bleach on the rug.  It is important to treat any stains with this method as early as possible to avoid further damage to the rug.

For a major spill, we recommend professional cleaning

Color

Test the rug for colorfastness: To prevent damage, a rug should be tested for colorfastness before being cleaned with any kind of solution. Use a white towel to dab the cleaning agent on a small area of the rug. Examine the towel to check whether any colour has transferred. Check the test area again to be sure that the colours have not faded or bled after allowing it to dry completely.

Wrinkles or Folding on edges

It is common to have wrinkles on a brand new rug . To get rid of them, the rug should be reverse rolled for a couple of minutes and edges should be rolled in the same manner. Repeat this process few times and within a week the rug should be perfectly flat

Odor

Rugs are tightly packed for shipping, freshly opened rug from a packaging might have a slight odor of dyes and yarn. Do not worry about it, the odor will be go away in couple of days

Considerations

Exactly what I wanted!

This rug is exactly what I wanted and exactly what it was pictured. I was worried about it being damaged during shipping, because some of the reviews complained about that. However, I'm assuming that since the old package was being torned and allowing the rug to get damaged in shipping, they changed the packaging. The rug came in this very sturdy bag in perfect condition. I love it!

Beautiful Rug, I love everything about it.

This rug is beautiful. *A note about the beige/tan color * - I was hesitant to order this after reading the reviews on this color because several of the reviews said it appeared dirty on arrival. When you first un-roll the rug, the 'tannish' color in this makes it look like there are darker spots all over. After you vacuum this or take your hand and brush the piling into the direction you want, that problem went away (at least for us). I loved how this rug looks and it feels soft on the feet.
